New Liquid Pumps Push Pumping Technology to New Level
April 22, 2009 – 7:07 am
A new range of pumps from Nitto Kohki is set to push the standards in pumping technology to a new level. The new liquid and gas pumps are suitable for a variety of applications such as biomedical technology, genetic engineering, hematology and pathology. Due to its self-priming and dry-running capability, the pump is also appropriate for air and non-explosive gases. Instead of using diaphragms, the BIMOR uses piezoelectric “Bimorph” technology. As a consequence the pump’s lifetime is significantly longer. An advantage over peristaltic pumps is that the Bimorph is the only expandable part, which makes the pump nearly maintenance-free because there is no need to exchange any wetted parts. The BIMOR features low power consumption and operates at a low noise level of less than 40 dB (A). The maximum pressure is 180 mbar and the flow rate for water is 220 ml/min.
