Unimed SA (Lausanne, Switzerland) offers reusable needles for applications such as injection and puncture; blood sampling and infusing; biopsy of various organs, including bone marrow needles; anaesthesia and radiology; and opthalmology. The needles, which can be supplied as standard or custom fabricated, comprise a stainless steel cannula with a bevel point or blunt end and a hub usually made from chrome plated brass to fit luer tip or luer lock syringes or connections. Surgical suture needles in stainless steel and nickel-plate carbon steel are also available.
The company also provides contract manufacturing of other stainless-steel tubular components for the medical device and diagnostics industries. Stainless-steel tubing with outside diameters smaller than 10 mm is available from stock in metre lengths or precise cuts.
